When I left my home in Southern Carolina
I left behind the great big grand grand sea
I left behind the Sandpipers & Shell-food
I left behind my home, a part of me
I moved away to start and raise a family
& some are with me on this special day
I started out my journey as a Jenni-fer
But today we celebrate the birth of Mae
Twas no accident I spent some time in Paris
Learning for myself 'bout, "Gay Par-ee"
I felt like Dorothy when She left Kansas
'cept my dog weren't Toto but Trixie
Of all the joys I've savoured upon my journey
& all the joy I've shared along the way
The joy that puts the broadest smile on my face
Is where my home & heart reside today
Take #1 - Friday May 3rd 2024 - vocals only
I recommend a sing-a-long performance will be best, however, that's because I hosted sing-a-longs for a while ; )
At least we've got the ball rolling : )
